NY Giants WR Malik Nabers injured in Sunday’s game with suspected torn ACL

New York Giants wide receiver Malik Nabers left Sunday’s game against the Los Angeles Chargers on a cart with a knee injury, with NFL insiders Ian Rapoport and Tom Pelissero later reporting that Nabers is believed to have torn his ACL.

The incident took place late in the first half, with Nabers injured after a deep pass from rookie quarterback Jaxson Dart down the right sideline caused him to immediately grab his right leg in pain. Athletic trainers briefly tended to Nabers on the field before quickly making the decision to take him off the field. Nabers’ teammates converged around him in support before he left the field riding on the back of the cart. Nabers had two catches for 20 yards before leaving Sunday’s game.

The Giants later announced that Nabers has a knee injury and would not return to the game, without noting reports of a torn ACL. ESPN reported that Nabers will undergo and MRI on Monday to confirm the injury.

Nabers, the former No. 6 overall pick out of LSU, caught 16 passes for 251 yards and two touchdowns in the first three games of the season. As a rookie, he earned Pro Bowl honors – catching 109 passes for 1,204 yards and seven touchdowns, with his 109 receptions becoming the most in a season in Giants history; and the second-most by a rookie all-time (behind Brock Bowers’ 112 catches).

See Jeremy Allen White in the trailer for Bruce Springsteen biopic “Deliver Me From Nowhere”

A new trailer was released for ‘Deliver Me From Nowhere,’ starring Jeremy Allen White as Bruce Springsteen on the making of his seminal album, Nebraska (1982).

The biopic is written and directed by Scott Cooper, and adapted from Warren Zanes’ 2023 biography, Deliver Me from Nowhere: The Making of Bruce Springsteen’s Nebraska. The film chronicles the development of the album, in which Springsteen retreated to a rented home in NJ with a four-track recorder to create a series of raw, intimate songs. Despite pressure from his record label to release the album along with a full-band, Springsteen ultimately decided to create Nebraska with the  home recordings.

Director Scott Cooper said in a press statement: “‘Nebraska’ is where Bruce chose truth over expectation—a choice that still reverberates through everything he’s written since. At that crossroads, he could have chased the bright lights and the roar of arenas, but instead he turned inward, armed only with silence, a four-track recorder, and the courage to confront himself. For him to trust me with telling that story—the most vulnerable chapter of his life—is the greatest honor I’ve ever had as a filmmaker.”

Along with White as Springsteen, the biopic features Jeremy Strong as the musician’s manager, Jon Landau; Marc Maron as producer Chuck Plotkin; Johnny Cannizzaro as Steven Van Zandt; Paul Walter Hauser as guitar tech Mike Batlan; Stephen Graham as Bruce Springsteen’s father, Doug; Odessa Young as a love interest name Faye; Gaby Hoffman as Springsteen’s mother, Adele; and David Krumholtz as Columbia Records executive Al Teller.

Coinciding with the film’s release will be “Nebraska ’82: Expanded Edition’ – a five-disc collection featuring a remastered version of the original album, the fabled electric version of Nebraska, as well as the solo outtakes from the era. Pre-order: HERE.

Deliver Me From Nowhere will be released in theaters on October 24th; see the trailer: HERE.

NY Jets QB Justin Fields returns to practice, will start Monday’s game if cleared from concussion protocol

New York Jets quarterback Justin Fields will start Monday’s game against the Miami Dolphins, provided he is cleared from concussion protocol.

Jets head coach Aaron Glenn told reporters that Fields was expected to be limited in practice on Thursday for the first time since he suffered a concussion in the team’s 30-10 Week 2 loss to the Bills on Sept 14, but he remains in the concussion protocol. Glenn said: “He still has to go through the whole protocol before he’s totally cleared, but I like where he’s at. If he’s cleared, he’s the starter.”

Fields was injured in the Week 2 loss to the Bills in the opening minute of the fourth quarter, after being smacked by Buffalo pass rusher Joey Bosa when throwing an incomplete pass. Fields’ head hit the turf as he landed, but remained in the game for one more play. The injury resulted in him missing the Week 3 matchup with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. With Fields sidelined, Tyrod Taylor started against Tampa, completing 26 of his 36 attempts for two touchdowns and an interception. Prior to his concussion, Field has been struggling, completing just three of his 11 attempts for 27 yards..

The Jets and Dolphins are both looking for their first win of the season during their matchup on Monday night in Miami.

76ers guard Jared McCain suffers UCL tear in right thumb during workout

Philadelphia 76ers guard Jared McCain suffered a torn ulnar collateral ligament (UCL) in his right thumb during a workout on September 25, 2025. He and the team are consulting with specialists to determine the best course of action.

ESPN’s Tim Bontemps was first to report on X: “Philadelphia 76ers guard Jared McCain suffered a UCL tear in his right thumb during a workout today, sources told ESPN. He and the team are working with specialists to decide how they will proceed, sources said. Philadelphia is set to hold media day tomorrow.”

This is the second significant injury for McCain in his young career. In December 2024, during his rookie season, he suffered a torn meniscus in his left knee, which required surgery and ended his season after 23 games. McCain was considered an early frontrunner for the Rookie of the Year award, averaging 15.3 points, 2.6 assists, and 2.4 rebounds in the 2024-25 season prior to his knee injury.

The average recovery time for a UCL tear in the thumb that requires surgery is roughly 9.6 weeks. This could mean a potential return for McCain around December if surgery is required. However, the team has indicated a desire to be cautious with his recovery.

See Charlie Hunnam in the trailer for ‘Monster: The Ed Gein Story’

Netflix is previewing Monster: The Ed Gein Story, starring Charlie Hunnam as the Wisconsin serial killer. The Ed Gein Story is the latest installment in the ‘Monster’ anthology series from Ryan Murphy and Ian Brennan.

The series synopsis reads: “In the frozen fields of 1950s rural Wisconsin, a friendly, mild-mannered recluse named Eddie Gein (Hunnam) lived quietly on a decaying farm – hiding a house of horrors so gruesome it would redefine the American nightmare.”

Known as the Butcher of Plainfield or the Plainfield Ghoul (who also inspired films including Psycho and The Texas Chain Saw Massacre) Gein confessed to murdering two women in the 1950s. He also allegedly made trophies out of bodies and skin of corpses he exhumed from graveyards, and is suspected of having been responsible for the deaths of others – including his brother Henry – however, authorities were unable to connect him definitively to any of the cases.

The cast also includes Laurie Metcalf as Gein’s mother, Augusta; Tom Hollander as Hitchcock, with Olivia Williams playing his wife Alma Reville; Addison Rae as Evelyn Hartley; Charlie Hall as Deputy Frank Worden, and Suzanna Son, in an unknown role. Olivia Williams, Lesley Manville, Joey Pollari, Tyler Jacob Moore, Mimi Kennedy, Will Brill, and Robin Weigert also star.

Hunnam told Netflix’s Tudum about the project: “I lost almost 30 pounds just to get a more malnourished, light frame. I spent a lot of time thinking about where his energy was, that he’s not particularly confident or, like, front-foot type of energy…”

The limited series premieres October 3 on Netflix; see the trailer: HERE.
