See Leonardo DiCaprio in the trailer for Paul Thomas Anderson’s ‘One Battle After Another’

Shortly after dropping a 20-second teaser, Warner Bros. released the full trailer for writer/director Paul Thomas Anderson’s next feature film, One Battle After Another, starring Leonardo DiCaprio as Bob Ferguson – a down-and-out former revolutionary who is in desperate search for his missing daughter.

The trailer sees DiCaprio, a former member of a revolutionary group called the French 75, seeking help from other revolutionaries to find his missing daughter. It also offers glimpses at co-stars Regina Hall, Teyana Taylor and Chase Infiniti.

The plot details of One Battle After Another remain shrouded in mystery, although Anderson’s script is reportedly inspired by Thomas Pynchon’s novel Vineland.  Anderson’s last project, 2021’s critically-acclaimed “Licorice Pizza,” lost tens of millions of dollars after failing to recoup its $40 million budget; however the film’s breakout star Alana Haim will reunite with Anderson again in “One Battle After Another.”

One Battle After Another debuts in theaters Sept. 26; see the trailer: HERE.

New England Patriots receiver Stefon Diggs returns to practice after absence

New England Patriots receiver Stefon Diggs returned to practice on Monday for the first time since his notable absence last week following a viral video of him at a yacht party. Diggs signed a three-year, $69 million contract this offseason.

Diggs, 31, arrived on the field for Monday’s practice, waving to reporters and delivering a brief greeting: “Nice to see you all.” Diggs then ran drills with his teammates as a limited practice participant. Diggs is gearing up for his first season in New England — he played a single season with the Houston Texans in 2024, and was with the Buffalo Bills and Minnesota Vikings. In addition, he made the Pro Bowl after each of the four seasons prior to his stint with Houston.

The veteran wide receiver’s absence came after multiple videos from Memorial Day weekend surfaced of him at a yacht party; with one of the video showing Diggs surrounded by women, handing out a baggie with unidentified contents. Other than his brief greeting to reporters on Monday, Diggs had not spoken with media since the videos went viral.

After Diggs’ absence from practice on Wednesday, Patriots head coach Mike Vrabel responded to questions regarding the viral videos: “it’s something that we’re aware of. And obviously we want to make great decisions on and off the field. And we’re hoping with our time here on the field today and that when we don’t have a script and we’re on the call periods that we’re making great decisions. And so the message will be the same for all our players, that we’re trying to make great decisions. And any conversations that I’ve had with Stefon will remain between him and I and the club.”  Neither the Patriots or the NFL have publicly commented on any potential league discipline.

Diggs is coming off an ACL tear that limited him to eight games last season. According to previous reports, he is ahead of schedule in his recovery and on track to be ready for the start of the regular season.

Netflix is previewing Tyler Perry’s upcoming film, Straw, starring Taraji P. Henson. Co-starring Sherri Shepherd, Teyana Taylor, Glynn Turman, Sinbad, Rockmond Dunbar, Mike Merrill, and Ashley Versher, the film will premiere June 6 on the streaming service.

The film follows Henson’s character, single mother Janiyah, who faces a series of unfortunate events that lead her down an unexpected path. Taylor portrays a sympathetic police officer, while Shepherd plays the “bank teller who meets Janiyah on the worst day of her life.”

Perry told Netflix’s Tudum“She’s just trying to survive, just trying to be a great mother to her daughter, and then the circumstances in her life cause her to be in this situation.
