Netflix shares teaser for ‘The Four Seasons’ starring Tina Fey, Steve Carell

Netflix is giving a glimpse of the new series The Four Seasons, starring Tina Fey and Steve Carell and set to premiere May 1.

The show is an adaptation of the 1981 movie of the same name, which was written, directed by and starring Alan Alda (who’s a producer and guest star of the new version). The film centers on three couples — played by Fey and Will Forte, Carell and Kerri Kenney-Silver, and Colman Domingo and Marco Calvani — who vacation together in each of the four season, and are thrown when one of the couples announces they’re divorcing.

The Netflix show is created by Fey, Lang Fisher and Tracey Wigfield, who previously collaborated on 30 Rock. The series follows three couples whose vacation is upended when they learn one couple plans to split up.

Quinta Brunson to guest host ‘SNL’ with musical guest Benson Boone on May 3

Abbott Elementary star and creator Quinta Brunson is returning to host NBC’s Saturday Night Live for the second time on May 3, featuring musical guest Benson Boone, who is making his debut on the comedy series.

Brunson previously made her hosting debut on April 1, 2023 in an episode that earned her a nomination for Outstanding Guest Actress in a Comedy Series at the 74th Primetime Emmy Awards. Brunson was also present at the show’s 50th anniversary special in February.

22 year-old singer/songwriter Boone, who shot to fame with his hit single “Beautiful Things,” is fresh off his viral set at Coachella, where he debuted the title track of his upcoming sophomore album, “American Heart.”

No word as of press time on who will host the show’s May 10th episode or the May 17th season finale.

Drake confirms he’s working on new solo album during livestream

Drake has been busy this year– first dropping his collab project with PARTYNEXTDOOR “$ome $exy $ongs 4 U” in February, as well as wrapping his tour in Australia and New Zealand.

Now, he revealed during his latest Stake gambling livestream with Adin Ross that he’s also working on a new album. When asked “Is it any good?” .. Drake replied: “It’s a slap.”

Meanwhile, Drake’s legal team filed an updated version of their lawsuit against UMG later this week, this coming after they secured a legal win earlier in the month when a judge denied UMG’s request to pause discovery, allowing them access to documents and depositions. A ruling on UMG’s motion to dismiss is scheduled for June 20.

NHL Playoffs Round 1: Capitals, Stars, Kings earn wins

The Washington Capitals defeated the Montreal Canadiens 3-1 in Game 2 on Wednesday night at Capital One Arena, to take a 2-0 lead in their Eastern Conference First Round playoff series. Canadiens’ forward Christian Dvorak scored early in the second to give Montreal a 1-0 lead, but the Capitals’ Connor McMichael and Dylan Strome replied in the second with goals one minute apart to put the Capitals on top, and later sealed the victory with an empty-net goal by McMichael. The series now shifts to Montreal with Game 3 set for Friday at the Bell Centre.

The Dallas Stars beat the Colorado Avalanche 2-1 in an overtime win on Wednesday in Game 2 of the Western Conference First Round at Ball Arena on Wednesday.  Tyler Seguin scored at 5:31 of overtime to give the Stars the win; with Jamie Benn also scoring, and Mikko Rantanen with an assist for Dallas, while Jake Oettinger made 27 saves.  The Stars lead the best-of-7 series 2-1; Game 4 will take place in Denver on Saturday.

The Los Angeles Kings took a 6-2 win against the Edmonton Oilers in Game 2 at Crypto.com Arena on Wednesday, extending their series lead to 2-0. Adrian Kempe had two goals and two assists, with Anze Kopitar adding a goal and three assists. Brandt Clarke and Andrei Kuzmenko each scored on the power play for the Kings, and Darcy Kuemper made 24 saves. Game 3 of the best-of-7 series will be in Edmonton on Friday.

NBA Playoffs: Celtics, Cavaliers, Rockets all win

The Boston Celtics beat the Orlando Magic 109-100 in Game 2 of their playoff series at TD Garden on Wednesday to take a 2-0 series lead. Jaylen Brown led the Celtics in Jayson Tatum’s absence (due to a wrist injury) with 36 points and 10 rebounds, with Kristaps Porzingis delivering 20 points and 10 rebounds. The Celtics and Magic meet for Game 3 at 7 p.m. Friday in Orlando.

The Cleveland Cavaliers defeated the Miami Heat in Game 2 of the the first round of the 2025 NBA playoffs with a 121-112 victory at Rocket Arena on Wednesday night, giving them a 2-0 series lead.  The Cavs’ Donovan Mitchell finished with 30 points, six assists and six rebounds while going 7 of 10 from 3-point range. Cleveland and Miami will meet for Game 3 in Miami on Saturday.

The Houston Rockets evened their first-round Western Conference series against the Golden State Warriors at one game apiece, with a 109-94 win in Game 2 on Wednesday night. Jalen Green made eight 3-pointers and scored 38 points, Alperen Sengun had 17 points and 16 rebounds, and Tari Easonn scored 14 points off the bench. The Warriors fell short for most of the night after Jimmy Butler left with a pelvis contusion after a hard fall on a foul late in the first quarter. Game 2 will take place on Saturday night at Golden State.

Jason Ritter joins new DC series ‘Lanterns’ at HBO

Jason Ritter is slated to join HBO’s upcoming series Lanterns (inspired by the Green Lantern DC comic) in a recurring role. The series is currently in production.

Ritter will portray Billy Macon who tries to cash in on his family’s name as he carries out tasks for his father. His father, William, is portrayed by Garret Dillahunt, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Billy Macon, described as “a good-looking charmer who does his father’s bidding. Capitalizing on his family’s reputation, he clings to his small-town ego and has everything to lose.”

Aaron Pierre and Kyle Chandler will portray John Stewart and Hal Jordan, who are, according to an official synopsis, “two intergalactic cops drawn into a dark, earth-based mystery as they investigate a murder in the American heartland.”  The show will also star Kelly Macdonald, Poorna Jagannathan and Ulrich Thomsen.

Ritter currently appears in the CBS drama “Matlock” opposite Kathy Bates, which has been renewed for a second season. He is also set to appear in the upcoming second season of “Poker Face” at Peacock.

“Lanterns”  was picked up for eight episodes at HBO in June 2024. Originally intended as a Max original, the show shifted to HBO and is co-written by Chris Mundy, Damon Lindelof, and Tom King, with James Gunn, Peter Safran, and Ron Schmidt serving as executive producers.

Doja Cat teases tracklist for new album ‘Vie’

Doja Cat gave fans another look at what might be coming on her upcoming album Vie, tweeting a picture of what seem to be songs on her upcoming album.

Back in November, Doja briefly shared a 13-song tracklist on social media (before quickly deleting it) which included titles like “Break My Heart,” “Take Me Dancing,” “Anything,” “Ain’t News,” “Turn the Lights On,” “Slow Burn,” “Wood Holly,” and “Appreciation.”

The latest tease saw Doja share an updated version featuring 16 tracks—some of which were repeats from the earlier list. The post was captioned, “don’t ask me where crack is rn,” (referencing a track called “Crack” that was notably missing this time(. “Turn the Lights On” made the cut again, but several songs from the earlier list—like “Break My Heart,” “Take Me Dancing,” “Anything,” “Ain’t News,” “Slow Burn,” “Wood Holly,” “Did I Lie,” and “Appreciation”—seem to have been dropped.

Doja Cat’s most recent album, Scarlet, was released in 2023 as the follow-up to her 2021 release Planet Her. Doja followed that album with the Scarlet 2 CLAUDE deluxe edition in May; and most recently, she collaborated with BLACKPINK’s LISA and RAYE on the track “Born Again,” and teamed up with Jack Harlow for his song “Just Us.”

2025 American Music Awards nominations: Kendrick Lamar leads with 10

The nominees for the 51st annual American Music Awards (AMAs) were announced on Wednesday, with Kendrick Lamar leading the way with 10 nominations, including Artist of the Year, Album of the Year and Song of the Year. A press release states that Lamar, 37, can potentially “tie Michael Jackson and Whitney Houston for the most awards in a single year should he win in all eight categories.”

The 2025 AMAs will be hosted by Jennifer Lopez, live from Las Vegas on Monday, May 26th. The 51st AMAs will air live coast to coast at 8 pm ET/5 pm PT on the CBS Television Network, and stream on Paramount+ in the U.S.

Post Malone followed Lamar with eight nominations, with Billie Eilish, Chappell Roan and Shaboozey each earning seven nods, and Bruno Mars, Lady Gaga, Morgan Wallen, Sabrina Carpenter, SZA and Taylor Swift were all honored with six nominations. First time nominees include Carpenter, Benson Boone, Doechii, Gracie Abrams, Jelly Roll, Lola Young, The Marias, Rose, Teddy Swims, Tommy Richman, Tyla, and Zach Bryan.

An official event description states: “The American Music Awards is the world’s largest fan-voted awards show honoring today’s most influential artists and their passionate fanbases.”

Fan voting is now open via VoteAMAs.com and the @AMAs Instagram profile in all award categories. Voting closes on Thursday, May 15 at 11:59:59pm PT, except for collaboration of the year and social song of the year categories, which will remain open through the first 30 minutes of the AMAs broadcast.
