Take a look at the video for Elton John & Britney Spears collaboration ‘Hold Me Closer’

Elton John and Britney Spears dropped their collaboration, “Hold Me Closer” last month, and now the duo is sharing the music video for the track.  John and Spears do not appear in the clip, and the video features a number of dancers portraying emotional and heartfelt choreography against the vibrant, colorful backdrop of Mexico City.

Director Tanu Muino said in a statement: “This was an emotional one for me as I grew up with Britney. After seeing ‘Slave For You,’ I decided that I wanted to become a video director. Elton John is an icon that I and the world grew up listening to. Going into this video, I knew there would be a lot of emotional expectations the audience and fans would have. With this responsibility, I had to do something different and unexpected. The visuals had to be different. The dance had to be forward-thinking to raise eyebrows and make Elton and Britney proud. To capture this magic, we shot around all my favorite architectural locations in Mexico City and brought on choreographer Jacob Jonas who does the best contemporary choreography today. Getting the best dancers, crew and access to some of the most private locations in the world was simple as everyone wanted to work with Elton John and be part of his legacy.”

In addition to the music video, it was announced that three collectible, limited edition CD singles of “Hold Me Closer” will be released in November. Each of the three unique discs will feature different artwork — one with the original single artwork and the other two with fan-voted art. Each CD will also have a different track list.

Reserve guard Tyler Herro agrees to four-year, $130M extension with Miami Heat

Miami Heat reserve guard Tyler Herro has agreed to a four-year, $130 million contract extension with the organization.  Of that total figure, $120 million is guaranteed and the remaining $10 million with be available via incentives.

Herro is the reigning Sixth Man of the Year award winner after averaging 20.7 points per game for the Eastern Conference’s No. 1 seed. However, Herro was disappointing in the postseason, averaging only 12.6 points per game while dealing with injuries that kept him out of most of the Eastern Conference Finals, where Miami would eventually lose to the Boston Celtics.

Herro was the subject of trade rumors involving Kevin Durant and Donovan Mitchell, and Herro made it clear that he no longer wants to come off of the bench.  After the postseason, Heat president Pat Riley made it clear that Herro would need to earn a starting job:  “The next step for him — and I think we’re seeing this in the league — if you want to win a championship and you wanna be a starter, you really have to become a two-way player today. You have to improve in certain areas of your game. … I saw improvement in his defense this year. He’s got great feet, he’s got quick feet. He just needs to get stronger, again. Add another 10 pounds of muscle mass. He just needs to get stronger from a leverage standpoint.”

San Diego Padres clinch second playoff berth since 2006 after the Brewers are defeated by the Marlins

The San Diego Padres are heading to the playoffs for the second time since 2006, despite losing to the Chicago White Sox 2-1 on Sunday. The Padres clinched the seventh playoff berth in franchise history on Sunday after the Milwaukee Brewers lost in extra-innings to the Miami Marlins with a 4-3 score. It’s the first time the Padres have made the playoffs in a full, 162-game season in 16 years.

The Padres have lost four of their last five games; they currently own a one-game lead over the Philadelphia Phillies for the second National League Wild Card spot. If the Padres finish in the second NL Wild Card spot, they will play the Atlanta Braves or New York Mets on the road in a best-of-three National League Wild Card Series next weekend. The Braves and Mets are currently playing in Atlanta that will determine which team wins the National League East division, and which team will need to play-in to the National League Division Series, as part of Major League Baseball’s new playoff format.

If the Padres tie with the Phillies, they will drop into the third and final NL Wild Card spot, as the Phillies own the head-to-head tiebreaker over the Padres. The Padres would then be forced to play a best-of-three series in St. Louis next weekend. The Phillies’ magic number is now one, as they lead the Milwaukee Brewers by two games with three days remaining in the regular season.

Hugh Jackman returning as Wolverine in Ryan Reynolds’ ‘Deadpool 3’

Ryan Reynolds shared on social media that Deadpool 3 will feature Hugh Jackman’s return as Wolverine, and also shard the sequel’s release date — Sept. 6, 2024.  In the video clip on Twitter, Reynolds speaks to the camera while Jackman walks by in the background. Reynolds asks Jackman if he’ll play Wolverine one more time, with him responding, “Yeah, sure, Ryan.”  Wolverine’s claws slash the Deadpool logo, before revealing the film’s release date.

Deadpool 3 will be the first Deadpool film made since Disney acquired 20th Century Fox. Deadpool was part of the X-Men universe at Fox, and introduced Reynolds’ character in X-Men Origins: Wolverine and included other character cameos in Reynolds’ films.

Jackman previously stated that 2017’s film Logan was his last appearance as the character. Logan was set in the future, as Wolverine’s powers were declining, so there is room for him to appear prior to the events of that film.
