Former NFL defensive lineman Tony ‘The Goose’ Siragusa dies at age 55

Former Colts and Ravens defensive lineman Tony “The Goose” Siragusa passed away on Wednesday at the age of 55.  Colts owner Jim Irsay posted to his Twitter account:  “The Goose, Tony Siragusa has passed away at 55…I’m heart broken as is all of Colts Nation.”

Siragusa began his career as an un-drafted free agent out of Pittsburgh; he played seven seasons with the Colts and five with the Ravens, where he won a Super Bowl in 2000.  Siragusa finished his career after playing 169 games, finishing with 22 sacks and five forced fumbles.

Pittsburgh coach Pat Narduzzi said in a statement:  “Tony truly was bigger than life, on and off the field. He played the game passionately and relentlessly. Despite not being drafted, he thrived in the NFL for 12 years. His post-football life took him so many places but he never forgot Pitt. We could always count on him to send the best recorded Pep Talks to our guys before our biggest games. The Goose leaves a great legacy and he will be sorely missed, our sympathies to his family, many loved ones and former teammates.”

Siragusa’s former teammate, Ray Lewis, expressed condolences in a statement: “This is a tough one  I love Goose like a brother. From the first day we met, I knew that life was different. I knew he was someone who would change my life forever.”

After his retirement, Siragusa was a sideline analyst for Fox Sports from 2003 until 2015. He also had some acting roles, appearing in “The Sopranos” and Spike Lee’s movie, “25th Hour.”

Harry Styles announces new Gucci collection ‘Ha Ha Ha’

Harry Styles has teamed up with Alessandro Michele to create the Gucci ‘Ha Ha Ha’ collection. The capsule’s name blends Styles and Michele’s first initials and represents the laughing face emoji they have used in conversations with each other for years.  Styles has worn Gucci since he struck out as a solo artist in 2017, covering Vogue in a Gucci gown, and wearing a sheer Gucci shirt at the Met Gala.  He is also always seen wearing his beloved Gucci ring.

The capsule collection merges both of their personal styles with a ‘70s vibe.  Michele told Women’s Wear Daily: “He has an incredible sense of fashion. He is obsessed with clothes. He keeps sketches and an archive. He could easily be a stylist or a designer and is very free, representative of this new generation that is interested in so many things. I have been observing his ability to combine items of clothing in a way that is out of the ordinary compared to the required standards of taste and common sense and the homogenization of appearance. It’s sophisticated, and we paid a lot of attention to fabrics and sartorial details.”

The 25 piece collection includes flared pants, pink and green houndstooth, sweater vests, gingham suits, animal-print motifs and more. The collection will be in stores in October and was unveiled as part of Milan Men’s Fashion Week.

Trainor released her latest album, Treat Myself, in January 2020, telling Billboard of the LP: “I’ve heard weird opinions from everyone [about what the album should be], so I kept writing the best songs I could. Every time I accomplished a new step in my songwriting world, my brain would go, ‘Uh-oh, the rest of the album needs to be this good.’ And finally I got to a place where my label and I were like, ‘Okay, I can’t beat these songs.’

Bill Cosby found guilty of sexually assaulting teen at Playboy Mansion in 1975

On Tuesday, a Los Angeles jury found Bill Cosby guilty of sexually assaulting a 16-year-old girl in 1975. The jury of eight women and four men found the 84-year-old Cosby liable for damages and awarded the plaintiff, Judy Huth, $500,000. Huth filed the civil lawsuit in 2014, but it was put on hold as prosecutors pursued a criminal case against Cosby in Pennsylvania that resulted in his 2018 conviction on charges he drugged and sexually assaulted Andrea Constand.

Jury deliberations restarted on Monday after they left the question of whether Cosby acted with “malice, oppression or fraud” unanswered by day’s end on Friday. Jurors had reached a verdict on the eight other questions on the second day of deliberations, including whether Cosby sexually molested Huth, whether she was under 18, and whether Cosby had reason to know her age.

Huth told a reporter after the verdict was delivered, “I feel vindicated.”  Cosby was released from prison last year after the Pennsylvania Supreme Court overruled his 2018 criminal conviction, ruling that there was a due process violation because Cosby had an agreement with a previous prosecutor that he wouldn’t be charged in the case. Cosby has denied all allegations of sexual assault.
