Utah Jazz’s Joe Ingles out for season with torn ACL

The Utah Jazz’s Joe Ingles will miss the remainder of the 2021-22 season, after Ingles went down with a knee injury during the Jazz-Timberwolves game. An MRI subsequently revealed a torn ACL in Ingles’ left knee, which will require season-ending surgery.  Per multiple reports, Ingles has a torn anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) in his left knee with no other structural damage.

Ingles will need to get a full range of motion before undergoing surgery to repair his knee after which he will be out for the remainder of the 2021-22 season as well as the postseason. A recovery time will likely be provided after Ingles’ surgery, which should take place before the end of the month.

Ingles was averaging 7.1 points, 3.5 assists and 2.0 rebounds per game on 40.8 percent shooting from the field and 35.1 percent from the 3-point line through 44 games. The torn ACL is the first serious injury of Ingles’ NBA career; the veteran forward had missed just nine games in the seven years leading into the current 2021-22 season.

Forward Jordan Greenway agrees to three-year, $9 million contract with Minnesota Wild

On Monday, forward Jordan Greenway agreed to a three-year, $9 million contract with the Minnesota Wild.  The 24-year-old was in the final season of a two-year, $4.2 million contract he signed in Oct. 2020, and could have been a restricted free agent after the season.

Wild general manager Bill Guerin said: “Jordan’s play over the last couple months has really been great. The way he’s been a big part of that line with [Joel] Eriksson Ek and [Marcus] Foligno is something that we want to keep around. And we’ve seen a growth in Jordan over the last couple years that we feel will continue and Jordan will keep getting better and better. This is a place he’s expressed that he’s comfortable, he wants to be here, he believes in what he’s doing. And we believe in Jordan and the direction that he’s going. We are extremely happy to have him back for three more years.”

Greenway has scored 13 points in 33 games for the Wild (27-10-3), who are third in the Central Division, and play their final game before the break for 2022 Honda NHL All-Star Weekend at the Chicago Blackhawks on Wednesday. Today’s Hoda Kotb and Joel Schiffman end their engagement after 8 years together

Today show host Hoda Kotb and Joel Schiffman have ended their engagement, breaking up after eight years together. The former couple were engaged in November 2019, and will continue to co-parent their daughters, 4-year-old Haley and 2-year-old Hope.

The 57-year-old Kotb shared on ‘Today With Hoda & Jenna’“People have written in and asked why I wasn’t wearing my engagement ring. Joel and I have had, we’ve had a lot of prayerful and really meaningful conversations over the holidays, and we decided that we’re better as friends and parents then we are as an engaged couple.  We decided that we are going to start this New Year and begin it on our new path, as loving parents to our adorable, delightful children and as friends. It’s not like something happened. They say that sometimes relationships are meant to be there for a reason or a season or for a lifetime, and I feel like ours was meant to be there for a season.”

Kotb added: “This is weird and awkward. I really was struggling with this. I was like, ‘What do I say, how do I say it?’ But I feel like often we share the joyous pieces of our life… and then the difficult part sometimes you want to forget about. You want to erase them, you don’t want to share them because that’s not part of a pretty picture. But I think a lot of women know what this feels like in this moment, to be changing course in life. And I feel really brave in this moment, I really do.”   Speaking of Schiffman, Kotb said: “He’s a great guy. He’s a very kind and loving person, and I feel privileged to have spent eight years with him.”

In October 2020, Kotb shared she was considering adopting a third child with Schiffman. When announcing her breakup, however, Kotb did not mention whether she and Schiffman are still planning on going forward with another adoption.
